Effigy
November 5th was Guy Fawkes Day. For all of you in the colonies, that is the day the Brits celebrate foiling Guy Fawkes plan to destroy parliament with 36 barrels of gunpowder. The celebration consists of continuous fireworks from six at night until 3 in the morning, burning Mr. Fakes in effigy, and setting random (unmanned) bonfires around the country. The result is much more damaged to the country as a whole than Guy could ever had achieved. Missing fingers, charred fields, and an exhausted fire department. I think it's the best holiday ever. Here is a poor night time picture.

You negected to mention that this year is actually the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot.
I'm enjoying your blogs from the great Northland of Minnesota! Keep them coming.
Dang it, I watched a two hour documentary and they never said a thing...
hey katie
have you gotten any mail???
I got a package from Laura, and postcards from my mom!
I sent you a Halloween card like 2-3 weeks ago! It was a pretty cool card, so I can totally understand if someone swiped it.
That sucks, I love getting mail. I'll go buy a card and write "Love, Jess" in it and hang it on my wall....
